Coimbatore is the second largest and top most industrialized cities of Tamilnadu.  The city is situated near River Noyyal.  Coimbatore has lot of textile factories, engineering firms, automobile parts manufacturers, health care facilities, educational institutions, pleasant weather and hospitality. Coimbatore is a Municipal Corporation as well as the district Headquarters.  The City has a mayor, deputy mayor and several counsillors, who have been elected by People.  The District Court is the highest court in Coimbatore Area.

History of Coimbatore
Before 2nd Century AD, Coimbatore was known as capital of a small tribal. From 2nd century to 3rd century AD, Kingdom Kongunad (Coimbatore) was ruled by the great warrior Karikala Cholan. After British Captured Kongunad with other states in Tamilnadu, British Government changed its name from Kongunad to Coimbatore.  In 1988, first textile mill was constructed in Coimbatore.  Now, there are more than 100 mills in Coimbatore.
