History of Dindigul
Dindigul fort was a famous historical place in Dindigul District. Marathas have used this Dindigul port for their military operations during the period of 17th and 18th centuries. It was under the control of Hyder Ali and British East India Company after 1755 to 1947. Dindigul Population includes more Muslims and Christians along with Hindus, due to Hyder Ali and British invasions.
