Kanchipuram History
Kanchipuram was under the control of Pallavas from 6th to 8th century. Like other historical cities, Kanchipuram also came under the Cholas after 8th century. Later it was ruled by Vijayanagar Kings, then Muslims and the British. Kanchipuram was well known for its culture and religious background.
