Kanyakumari History
The name came to this town, because of famous goddess Kanyakumari Amman found here.  From Ancient Period, Nanjilnadu and Idainadu are the two divisions of Kanyakumari district.  Kottar is well known as major commercial centre and agriculture from olden days, now it is a part of Nagercoil.
