Sivagangai town is the headquarters of Sivagangai District in Tamilnadu. Karaikudi city is the biggest and famous place in this district. Nattu Kottai Chettiars are highly found in this district. Two Famous Educational Institutions like Alagappa University and CECRI are found here. This district is popularly known as “Chettinad”.

Sivagangai History
Ramnad, Sivaganga and Pudukottai were the three territories under the Ramnad Kingdom on those days. This kingdom was ruled by Kilavan Sethupathy from 1674 to 1710. This district is surrounded by districts such as “Pudukkottai”, “Ramanathapuram”, “Virudhunagar”, “Madurai” and “Trichy”.
